CHGW Annual Sleep Out

Every year we host our Sleep Out with community leaders and advocates on behalf of youth facing homelessness in DC, MD, and VA. By enduring one night of uncomfortable sleep, we raise awareness of the urgency of need, raise funds to provide support, and raise the spirits of our youth.

Raising the results matter the most...

Raising Awareness

Raising Spirits

Raising Funds

Drawing attention from our network and reaching outside to the public sphere spreads the word of issues and barriers surrounding youth homelessness, tells others of our work, and raises advocacy.

Everybody has a story. The total Sleep Out effort, including the pre-Sleep Out youth panel discussion, gives our youth a safe space to tell their stories. The overwhelming amount of Sleep Out participation puts your concern into action and proves to our youth that the community cares.

It was a phenomenal effort, a eye-opening experience, and couragous event. Together, in 2022 Sleep Out, we proudly raised $364,443 to continue to support youth programs.

It's that time of year again. Join a team.

"Being a part of the Sleep Out gave me a wide range of emotions, from excitement to happiness to anxiety to freezing cold, but the most important thing I took away was a new perspective."
Listening to the youth tell their stories, the camaraderie of the everyone, the passion of people wanting to make a difference... I'll be doing this for years to come.
