Covenant House Washington partners with Young Mothers Inc. to uplift homeless women and youth with makeovers this Mother’s Day.
Washington, DC (May 4, 2017)- Covenant House Washington (CHW) and Young Mothers Inc. are hosting an I Love You Makeover Saturday, May 6, 1 p.m.- 3 p.m. held at 2001 Mississippi Ave. SE, Washington DC 20020 to help young women and youth build self-esteem and confidence.
“Many youth enter Covenant House Washington abused, discouraged, and with with a since of being forgotten. Our young people deserve the opportunity to regain the hope and confidence that the realities of the streets may have taken away from them. Preventing youth trafficking starts with young people knowing their self-worth, the makeovers and character building interactions will help them achieve that goal” – says Dr. Henson, President & CEO, Covenant House Washington.
Participants will be given the opportunity to have candid conversations about their goals and hardship. Business attire, hygiene products and beauty products will be donated. Also local hair salons and makeup artists will contribute their time and expertise.
