MEDIA RELEASE: Sleep Out Executive Edition 2018

MEDIA RELEASE

Washington, DC – Regional Executives and Community Leaders join Covenant House Greater Washington (CHGW) to Sleep Out on the street (Thursday, November 15, 2018) for one night so that homeless youth don’t have to. The Sleep Out movement is Covenant House’s signature fundraising event that brings leaders together across the entire country and Canada to raise essential funding that supports the work of Covenant House.

Sleep Out Executive Edition in Washington has a goal of raising $200,000 to support housing, workforce readiness, and educational programming offered to Opportunity Youth (18-24) experiencing homelessness, disconnection, and/or exploitation at CHGW.

This year, on Friday, November 16, Sleep Out America will take place across the country where nearly 5,000 people representing every State in the United States will participate by creating their own Sleep Out and unite with their communities and Sleep Out,  while joining the conversation through digital, social media, and the SleepOutAmerica.org interactive platform.

For over 23 years, Covenant House Greater Washington (CHGW) has served as the region’s leading non-profit throughout the area in protecting, supporting, and transforming the lives of youth ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness, disconnection, and exploitation. CHGW has provided a safe harbor and wrap-around supportive services to one of the area’s most vulnerable populations. The programs and services offered to young people help them to get back on track in achieving housing, career, and economic stability.
