Washington, DC – Covenant House Greater Washington is excited to expand our board with four new members who bring diverse expertise and insight to our work. Joe Clair, Morning Show Host, Comedian, Radio Personality, On-Air Veteran, Entertainer, Actor and Philanthropist; Tony Curtis, President, Classic Concierge; Keon Scott, Mid-Atlantic Regional Vice President for Capital Group (American Funds); and youth representative, Kasaundra Hairston, a Covenant House Greater Washington alumnus who will serve as a voice for young people experiencing homelessness, disconnection, and exploitation.
Joe Clair, host, comedian, radio personality, and on-air veteran is a native of Seat Pleasant, MD and is the current host of WPGC’s 95.5 – Joe Clair Morning Show. He is a graduate of Morgan State University, where he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, but found his passion for comedy, music, and communications. Joe is the 2018 Ambassador of the DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance and has received many honors for his role as a philanthropist, including his work with organizations such as the Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals Network, the Covenant House Annual Gala, and The Made Man. Joe Clair is a multifaceted entertainer with a career spanning two decades.
Tony Curtis is a native of Southern Maryland, he currently serves as President of Classic Concierge, responsible for overall operations, business development and quality of the company that has a market capitalization of over 10 million dollars. Making sure that Classic Concierge’s name is always front and center, Tony is an active member of Property Management Association, Apartment and Office Building Association (Committee Chair and ACT Committee member), Institute of Real Estate Management Chapters 8 & 77, Washington Area Concierge Association (former board member), and the National Concierge Association (Former Chapter President and currently National Executive Vice President of Membership). Tony is a graduate of George Mason University.
Keon Scott is a 16-year veteran of the financial Industry. He currently serves as the Mid Atlantic Regional Vice President for Capital Group (American Funds), a $2 trillion global investment management firm. In this current role, he supports and drives business across Capital Groups $1.65BN Insurance Series funds within variable annuities. Prior to joining Capital Group, he has served in various leadership roles across the industry's top financial firms including Legg Mason, T. Rowe Price, Calvert Investments. Lincoln Financial and Prudential Financial. Keon attended The University of Pittsburgh where he received his BS and BA in Mathematics and African Studies with a concentration in economics. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
Kasaundra Hairston is an alumnus of Covenant House Greater Washington. Kasaundra is a graduate of the Marriott Hospitality training program sponsored by Goodwill, and currently works in the hospitality industry at a hotel, where she wears multiple hats – ranging from bartender, banquet server, bar support technician, and cashier. She regularly volunteers at Martha’s Table, serving meals to children and adults who experience homelessness, and is passionate about giving back to the community. Kasaundra has a passion for music and is a singer-songwriter who has performed at a number of non-profit events and local showcases, including venues like the Howard Theater, Wardman Park, and the Lincoln Theater. Kasaundra intends to continue to broaden her horizons and explore different avenues that help others fulfill their purpose and passions along with striving to continuously fulfill her own. Kasaundra is a graduate of the University of the District of Columbia where she earned her Associates degree.

For over 25 years, Covenant House Greater Washington (CHGW) has served as the region’s leading non-profit throughout the area in protecting, supporting, and transforming the lives of youth ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness, disconnection, and exploitation. CHGW has provided a safe harbor and wrap-around supportive services to one of the area’s most vulnerable populations. The programs and services offered to young people to help them to get back on track in achieving housing, career, and economic stability.
